A vintage poster advertising Bermuda as a travel destination has sold for more than $9,000 at an auction in New York. The poster, Grace Line, was part of a collection of four posters about Bermuda that were up for auction. Three are travel destination posters while the fourth was a nod to the infamous Bermuda Triangle. All four were sold as travel posters highlighting Bermuda but one look at the Bermuda Triangle poster and it doesn't look like the average travel poster.

A collection of Michael Jackson memorabilia, including the now iconic rhinestone-studded glove he wore when he performed his first moonwalk dance in 1983, will being sold at auction. The glove and other Jackson items are part of a music memorabilia auction being held by Julien's Auctions at the Hard Rock Cafe in New York's Times Square on Saturday. Jackson wore the left-handed glove when he unveiled what was to become his trademark dance on Motown's 25th-anniversary TV special.

Some of Nortel Networks' most-prized assets were on the auction block Friday as two technology giants put their best bids forward in hopes of gaining control. Both Ciena Corp. (NASDAQ:CIEN) and Nokia Siemens participated in an auction for the optical networking and carrier ethernet business at the New York offices of the insolvent technology giant's lawyers. As of 6 p.m. ET on Friday, a winner had yet to be determined.

Prince Land Services Inc. of Haines City was the lowest bidder but submitted an incomplete bid, according to Public Works Utilities Director Mike Stripling. Commissioner Roy Tyler asked for an explanation for the need to omit Prince Land Services Inc. "If it is a legal reason they did not prepare the bid properly or not have certification, then I understand and will live with it," Tyler said. The Clermont County Humane Society raised more than $20,000 at its fundraising annual dinner and auction held Nov. 7 at the Norlyn Manor in Batavia Township. More than 240 people turned out for the gala event, which offered more than 300 items, including original artwork, deluxe vacation packages and signed Cincinnati Bengals items in live and silent auctions. Although animal intake is down from last year, so too are adoptions, said Kim Naegel, director of the Clermont Animal Shelter.
